Know what you are measuring
Dry coffee dose and beverage yield are two different measurements. Their ratio helps you understand the recipe. Time adds another observation about the process; it does not guarantee flavor on its own.
Change one variable at a time
Changing dose, grind and yield at once makes it difficult to interpret results. Record your starting recipe, adjust one variable and taste again. This helps connect the adjustment to what you notice in the cup.
Listen to the cup
Think about acidity, sweetness, bitterness and mouthfeel together. The timer alone may not explain a sharp or drying result. Coffee, roast, water and equipment influence the outcome too.
Make a small habit
Keep notes with the coffee name, dose, yield, time and a short taste description. Brewing the same coffee thoughtfully over several days teaches more than searching for a perfect recipe in one attempt. Follow your equipment manufacturer’s instructions for safe operation and cleaning.
